Community Ministries

Members of Aldersgate United Methodist church participate in or support through their efforts the following ministries in the community:

Walk to Emmaus

Held at Little Grassy Camp.

A highly structured weekend designed to strengthen and renew the faith of Christian people, and through them their families, congregations and the world in which they live. Emmaus is a combined effort of laity and clergy toward the renewal of the church. Held twice a year for men and women. Contact: Jean Ness

Nursing Home Ministries

There is always room to serve, sing visit, listen, and pray within our nursing home ministries. Contact the church office if you would like to be a part of this ministry.

Fountains Nursing Home: Once a week on Wednesday mornings at 10:00am the church holds worship and fellowship for the residents of the nurshing home through volunteers and the staff of the church. Contact Kathy DeYoung

Parkway Estates/Manor: Once a month the church hosts a worship service with communion at both Parkway Estates and Parkway Manor. Contact Joidi Reinhard.

Ministerial Alliance Soup Kitchen

Weekdays per rotating schedule with other churches in Marion. Volunteers help prepare and serve noon meal to the needy at the Marion Ministerial Alliance soup kitchen.

Lighthouse Homeless Shelter

WOn a rotating schedule with other churches and organizations in Marion, volunteers help prepare and serve dinner to the homeless at the lighthouse shelter.
