A Chance to Discuss Evangelism with Professor Powe
September 16-17 our church is hosting the Collins’ Pastors’ Conference, a chance for local pastors and church leaders to learn and be encouraged. There are three great places over this event for you to plug in and hear some great teaching/preaching.
First is Thursday evening, September 16, at 7 is the opening worship event for the conference. Aldersgate will provide the music, and our Bishop, Rev. Gregory Palmer, will preach. Join us for an evening of worship, inspiration, and challenge.
Second is the conference itself. It is open to all church leaders (that’s everyone in a position of leadership, Sunday school teacher, committee member, youth or children’s leader.) There’s a special price for Aldersgate members (just $10), and you can call the church office to register for the conference which runs from 8:30 - 6:00 on Friday, September 17.
Third is a very special opportunity for our congregation. Dr. Douglas Powe, professor of evangelism at St. Paul School of Theology, is staying around an extra day after the conference to speak to our congregation. On Saturday, September 18, from 8:30 -12:00, all members of our church are invited to join us for breakfast and to hear Dr. Powe speak about Evangelism to postmodern generations. Come and be a part of the discussion. The cost is only $5, but registration is necessary. You can sign up by calling the church office at 997-6065.
We ask you to be in prayer for this conference, that it will be a source of inspiration, challenge, and learning for the pastors and church leaders in attendance, and we hope you can come and be a part.
